Supernatural fans, it’s official!  The Winchester boys will be back for another season of hunting.  Dean, Sam, and the rest of the gang will be returning for more episodes of paranormal adventure and family issues.

No doubt this is welcome news.  With the ending of ‘Smallville’ and other shows that have failed to rally the kind of ratings needed to sustain them, it’s so comforting to know that ‘Supernatural’ will continue on – at least for now.

I heard the news how I normally do – not through a CW spokesperson or other official channel but through one of the stars himself.

Of course the news was mixed with his own unique sense of humor, but never the less, the message is clear – the boys and their friends are coming back.

Misha Collins (who plays Castiel) shared the following with his Twitter “minions” last night:

So rejoice!  While no word has been given as to when production will start on the newest season, we can rest assured knowing that it will indeed happen.

In the meantime, stay tuned to the CW to catch the rest of season 6.  The finale airs on May 20 and it’ll be two hours long.  Don’t miss it!
