Blade Runner fans, listen closely – this might appeal to you. Apparently Cinemax is working on a new series called ‘The Sector’ that’s rumored to be very much like your beloved movie. It’s being described as a cross between science fiction and a cop thriller – that sounds interesting, right?
If you’re still not convinced, maybe knowing this will help – Ridley Scott is one of the executive producers. I’m sure you already know this but I should point out that he directed ‘Alien’, ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Black Hawk Down’ and so much more.
Unfortunately there’s not much to go on in terms of what the plot will be like. C.B. Drooge from TGDaily recently had this to say about it: ‘The protagonist is the commander of a new paramilitary unit tasked with the tracking down and neutralizing dangerous genetically enhanced humans, who sneak onto the Earth from outer colonies, where they are legal.”
Unfortunately the fact that the show’s appearing only on a premium cable channel does limit its audience. Perhaps at some point they’ll allow people to view it via Hulu or the iTunes store.
