Unfortunately ‘Inception’ didn’t win Best Picture at the 83rd annual Academy Awards ceremony, but film fans at Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, have already chosen it as their favorite film of 2010. The award will be presented at CinemaCon’s Final Night Banquet and Award Ceremony on Thursday, March 31 in Las Vegas.

‘Inception’ beat out 14 other fan favorites, including ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,’ ‘Toy Story 3’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1,’ in a month long online survey exclusively featured on Fandango’s Awards Watch on their site.  Polls closed February 25th at 5:00 P.M. PT.

“Christopher Nolan might not have been nominated by the Academy as the year’s Best Director, but he certainly hit a home run with Fandango fans for his incredible vision with Inception,” says Ted Hong, Chief Marketing Officer of Fandango.  “Inception won over both critics and mainstream moviegoers, and it represented a significant portion of our tickets sales in 2010.”

Thousands of moviegoers voted for their favorite film of 2010, picking the winner from a list comprised of the fifteen top-grossing films of the year. Fans also had the opportunity to participate in a sweepstakes for a chance to attend the CinemaCon Final Night Banquet and Awards Ceremony.
