In a sign that 2012 may not be bringing the Mayan apocalypse, ‘Justin Bieber: Never Say Never’ didn’t take the top spot…but just barely. In it’s debut, Disney’s ‘Gnomeo And Juliet’ took the 3rd spot for the weekend with a respectable $25.5 million.

In it’s second weekend, the James Cameron produced 3D film ‘Sanctum’ drew only $5.1 million dropping from second to eighth place this weekend. The $30 million budget film has now grossed $17.5 million.

‘The Green Hornet’ has proved to have legs as it drops to tenth in it’s fifth week with a $3.6 million take at the box office. The film has now passed the $90 million domestic box office line and raised its cume to $92.3 million.

The $13 million budgeted fantasy thriller ‘Black Swan’ dropped to 14th place but continued to bring in viewers despite losing almost half of its screens. With an additional $2.1 million this weekend, the film is inches from crossing a $100 million domestic gross with its current cume at $99.3 million.

‘Tron: Legacy’ remained in the top 20, despite losing a large number of screens and now being shown on only 364 screens. It gained an additional $500k bringing its total domestic gross to $169.7 million.
