It’s Official ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ Is Set For July 3, 2012

Today Columbia Pictures officially announced that the next ‘Spider-Man’ film will be titled ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ and will be released on July 3, 2012.

The film is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D. The film stars Andrew Garfield (‘Doctor Who’, ‘The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’), Emma Stone (‘Zombieland’, ‘Medium’), Rhys Ifans (‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1’), Denis Leary (‘Underworld’, ‘Ice Age’), Campbell Scott (‘Damages’), Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen (‘The Departed’, ‘The West Wing’), and Sally Field (‘Brothers & Sisters’, ‘ER’). The film is directed by Marc Webb (‘Lone Star’, ‘The Office’) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (‘The Losers’, ‘Zodiac’) and Alvin Sargent (‘Spider-Man 2 & 3’) and Steve Kloves ( 8 ‘Harry Potter’ films) based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
